Tony Snow

Those of us who knew Tony and of his valiant fight against colon cancer are in shock today. I first met Tony in the mid 1990’s when we were guests on Bill Maher’s “Politically Incorrect”. He was funny, even with the dispair of illness; he was smart, hard working and devoted to his family. Most of all, he was decent and kind. Rest in peace, friend.

I pray that his family will be made aware of how much even those of us who didn’t know Tony Snow personally, loved his spirit. For them I pray for acceptance that he has left them to be with Our Father. For the rest of us I pray there will be kindred spirits out there to help make our world a better place. RIP Tony, you will be missed.

Maybe Jesse Helms needed a spokesman for whatever he’s doing now–probably trying to keep blacks and homosexuals out of heaven or hell.

I was always amazed (and sometimes downright shocked) at how kind Tony was to those he vehemently disagreed with…he seemed like such a classy guy. Good sentiments, Alan.
Rest in peace.

I hate how vindictive these creepy Leftists are. They have no class.
July 12th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
My condolences to his family and loved ones.

Why am I not suprised that only Vince so far has had a negative comment! Try reading the kind things others wrote before you rise up in unjustified indignation! Tony was surely opposite of my views, but he expressed his with gentlemanliness and good humor for the most part. Our prayers are extended to his family and friends as they celebrate his life.

There is nothing more creepy to me than an individual who maintains a webpage like yours Vince. I bet you own lots of assault weapons huh?
July 12th, 2008 at 4:20 pm
to this day I cant understand why tony went to work for the Mc Donalds franchise “Bush administration” the people leaving/fired from that adm. should have been a Good year size tea leaf screaming STAY AWAY.
RIP

spy: Um try reading James McPherson’s message .. that is what motivated my comment.
His wasn’t negative?
July 12th, 2008 at 4:27 pm
Patsy: I’m well aware that the truth to a Lefty is like Holy Water to Linda Blair
July 12th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
I, too, liked Tony Snow. His views differed from mine in many ways, but he always had such class. Guys like him are few. He will be missed.

“Maybe Jesse Helms needed a spokesman for whatever he’s doing now–probably trying to keep blacks and homosexuals out of heaven or hell.”
Spyglass, is that a positive comment? Vince was responding to that…doesn’t sound all that positive. Yes, Patsy, being against extremists is creepy. Being against violence is creepy. If someone ever invades your house, Patsy, don’t call the police because that’s creepy.

I too am in shock today. Ohhh gee how incredibly sad. 53 years old. Tony was just a baby to die that young. My father died from colon cancer too but he was in his 70’s.
Tony had real class and was a gentleman. He seemed like a very kind and gentle person. He had a pretty good show on Fox a while back that I used to watch. He had his very conservative opinion and so forth but he was not nasty about it. I wish there were more like him in that way.
Very depressing, I feel terrible.
Rest in peace Tony Snow.

One thing the networks have been showing today is Tony Snow’s last day as Press Secretary. The footage of him in the parking lot and the entire White House Press applauding him. That was pretty cool…
July 12th, 2008 at 5:45 pm
Vince…I guess that I saw McPherson’s comment as a political viewpoint which probably reflects correctly Mr Helms long held beliefs. And Tony surely was a commentator for the conservative side. All other remarks have been balanced and even nice as they should be on a sad occasion. So holster your gun for a bit, eh? Some liberal leaning people actually are pretty nice well motivated folks…and even patriotic as they express their beliefs even as you express yours. Cheers!

vince~ i agree that james’ comment was distasteful, but its not fair to lump all of the “creepy leftists” together. no one else made a comment like that.
What a courageous spirit Tony had. Damn, he was a fighter.
R.I.P. Tony.

Wow. I knew that he had cancer, but I thought he had it beat a long time ago. Very sad and a complete surprise.
July 12th, 2008 at 7:27 pm
Cheryl: I didn’t lump all Lefties together and call them creepy.. Only the ones who act that way. If you dont fit the patten then i’m not talking about you.

RIP Tony Snow. My favorite memory of him was watching him take apart “comedian” John Stewart with a smile on his face the whole time. My condolences to his family.
July 12th, 2008 at 7:45 pm
He was a champion for the right wing at Fox.I didnt agree with one word he said but he did his job very well.
R.I.P Tony..

Exactly the type of guy I like to hear from. . .I remember reading recently that he was going to return to TV with CNN some time in the near future. It’s too bad we won’t get to see him again
July 12th, 2008 at 8:41 pm
You fought a great fight. I would only hope to be as stong as you if something like that happened to me.
The heck with political differences. Rest in peace, good man.
July 12th, 2008 at 8:50 pm
For the record, I think Tony was a smart, witty and courageous guy who obviously loved his family, and I pray for them. But since he also served as Rush Limbaugh’s primary substitute for a time, and then overlooked his own negative views of the Bush administration to join that administration, I do wish he had put his obvious gifts to better use.

GOD bless you Tony. I’m praying for the Snow family& Tony. We will miss you .

I too was sadened when I checked CNN news this morning .At least he wasn’t there when the neo-cons started this reign of terror over our home, this small blue wonderful globe billions call home. I’d like to extend my condulances to all who knew, loved and lived wit him. Deep down inside I hope he had the knowlage of what communties really means as we are all in this together. Not rich not poor, not brown white yellow or red.All together we shall take what Tony has shown us and turn the bad into good. For US.
Now is the time for us start a new world and elect Obama to Our White House, not a home that has been occupied for eight long years by a huckster shilling for family interests.

I want to say something nice when people die, but in the wake of Tim Russert’s untimely death what can be said? Tony Snow had cancer and he died with dignity and grace. He was a partisan. Russert was for America. There is a huge difference.
July 13th, 2008 at 10:38 am
Somewhere up beyond the clouds, the lilting sounds of Tony’s flute are making glad the angels.
Rest in peace, Tony.
July 13th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
My condolences to Mr. Snow’s family and friends.
As far as the remark above about his appearances with Jon Stewart, there was no such take down. The 2 men had a great give-and-take with both getting in valid points…both men with smiles on their faces and respect for each other.
July 13th, 2008 at 9:34 pm
“Maybe Jesse Helms needed a spokesman for whatever he’s doing now–probably trying to keep blacks and homosexuals out of heaven or hell.” Only those who have nothing but bitterness in there heart would say such a thing about an honorable man who died an honorable death. Shame on you. And everybody else, you are only attacking the wrong person. You attack somebody who tries to defend the memory and respect for Tony Snow and ignore the hate eminating from James. Wake up and smell the roses, it’s dispicable to speak that way about the dead. Again, shame on you James.
Tony Snow was a good man who never had anything bad to say about anyone and even as he was sick with cancer, he was still very active and motivated. I have undying respect for this man. May his soul rest in peace.
