Not That There’s Anything Wrong With That

I’m talking about love, regardless of gender, and age.

So what if Charles Sobhraj is 44 years older than Nahita Biswas? The 20-year-old met the 64-year-old when she worked as an interpreter for his lawyer, and she is covinced the confessed serial killer will soon be free.  And, after a two-and-a-half month courtship,  during which time he was incarcerated, who are we to say they don’t know each other well enough?

Responses to this post...

  1. Serial killers aren’t my type, but there is nothing wrong with that age difference. I am 27 and have dated people 17-42 years older than I am. It just so happens that the people I am attracted to physically, emotionally, and itellectually are older. It’s no different than having a “type” that includes blondes and people who like baseball. We should celebrate love regardless of age (children excluded), gender, or race. There is already enough hate in this world.

  2. The lower age is fine, so she can marry a 90 year old for all I care.

  3. Also, if he kills her, one less idiot.

    …ha ha…ha

  4. They should have to freedom to be together if they wish. I think she’s an idiot, but it’s her prerogative. Perhaps we need to raise the age of majority to 21 because of this? Ha.

Summer, 42 years OLDER than you? I guess some gals feel more comfortable in a relationship with a paternal, father-figure type. Nothing wrong with that if that is what a gal likes. There are lots of young guys who are emotionally and intellectually pretty darn mature, though.

“I’ve always DREAMED of dating a criminal, mom. But a serial killer? What luck!”

  5. If she has to Date /marry a high profile ex con ? Im willing to bet there are at least 15 million eligible men who are laughing their ass off.

    rotts a ruck

    she must have BAD gas

  6. The only thing wrong with this story is you forgot to ask the most important question in journalism, “Who gives a damn?” You’ve got to remember we must care before you go there. We don’t care and she’s of consenting age.

  7. This is a personal blog, Cecil, not an official news blog bound by every rule of journalism, real or imagined. Do you ever stop acting like a whiny little, sanctimonious twerp for more than 5 minutes?

  8. If you want a liberal superman, create or hire one, and maybe fox will take him in place of alan, or not. fox’s biases and the market will decide. btw, if alan did act to the extent you seem to want, he’d probably kill the ratings of h&c because there’s a limit to how much people can tolerate pricks.

  9. She MUST be a liberal !!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
    GOOOOOOOOOFFY !

  10. She’s just looking for any type of fatherly love she can find and he is looking for, well being pent up for all those years will be like a dog wondering upon a full bucket of kentucky fried chicken.

I can almost predict that, she’ll be his next victim.

But who gives a rats ass anyway?

  11. Well according to Sobhraj’s write up at the Wiki he’s a bit of a manipulative genius like Hannibal Lecter, except he killed for profit, and I’ll just take a wild guess and say that Nahita Biswas has some serious issues in need of professional attention.

  13. Well I just Googled the woman’s name, and apparently there is no place in the entire internet where Nahita Biswas is mentioned except here at Liberalland, so correct me if I’m wrong, Anonymous, but it would appear that you are making an immense leap toward a baseless assumption.

  14. wrong, no. f***ed up? yes.

  15. I have never understood the facination with criminals, but this guy sounds like a real piece of work. What I really can’t understand is how many people are unconcerned about this young lady’s wellfare and actualy feel like she deserves to be this manipulators next victem. 20 may be legaly of age, but she is also still quite young and vulnerable. She should have more common sense then this, and frankly, the age thing in and of itself, ewwww. But I have seen and heard of relationships based off of similar differences. My main concern is her falling prey to an older, smooth talking criminal.

  16. WFG, I have the guts to put my real name on anything that I think or say. WFG is an act of cowardice that gives you the courage to criticize me as you see fit. I would love to replace Alan as the Liberal Commentator, but they couldn’t afford me. Rush Limbaugh just got 400 million for 8 years and he’s been getting his butt kicked. I’ve put the Liberals in a tremendous position to win and I haven’t received a dime. I’ve got a lot to whine about. These people know who I am and what I’ve done. You can criticize me because you don’t have a clue and you can hide in the shadows. This is called a sniper, but you only use words. A sniper isn’t good for anyone.

  17. Cecil, will your next post not be a distraction from a legitimate criticism of your behavior?

    You don’t own people.

No one asked for nor cares what your name is.

No one’s opinion’s validity rests solely on whether or not his name is public.

    Calling me a coward is a red-herring.

The issue here is that you have such a stick up your ass that you even complain about Alan not doing your bidding in his personal blog and in a thread obviously not intended to convey any serious political arguments; It’s just Alan’s brief commentary on a news story he came across.
Let me enlighten you, your pitiful rebuttal fails because I know exactly what it is. Next time, try to respond to the most relevant premise, and It’s not yours, because that one is predicated on your delusion that Alan’s every waking moment is centered on you and your goal.

i’ve always taken ‘wrong’ and ‘fucked up’ to be one and the same.

i’ve just learned to ignore Cecil, WFG. and lots of people go by their initials, or use a favorite screenname. it’s a matter of preference, not cowardice.

about this chick… i’m concerned about her mental health. seriously.

  19. Good idea.

  20. well… wrong has moral implications. F***ed up is just my opinion.
