  1. what’s this Ligtning Round business? is this the caller 2 caller junx? i like it!

can’t wait to hear what you’ve got to say about my boy carlin.

are you going to have your wife on to interview her about the new book? i don’t know if that’s “okay”, to interview your spouse, but it’s for the specific reason of this book. and it’s a very interesting perspective that is not often publicized.

  2. I think Kasich is a Republican.

  3. did you guys hear about don imus’ latest infamous remark?

  4. Imus interests me not, so no.

  5. i just saw it on a news update.

  6. George Carlin was a genius as far as I’m concerned and the funniest man on the planet. Brutal with the truth and brilliant at satirizing it. I have loved that guy for 3 decades and I am going to miss him so much.

On the other hand I am not a fan of Don Imus. I did listen to the clip and I’m thinking he meant it in a satirical way but honestly… you can’t really tell from hearing it. I would think either way, he should really watch what he says after all that has transpired. Pretty stupid.

John Kasich is definately a Republican.

  10. McCain’s former jailor at the Hanoi Hilton says he’d vote for McCain if he could. Interesting.

  11. I think Kasich is a Republican.

  12. Alan accidentally listed him as “D-OH”.

Big A, i like this lightning round business! how many times can you call in one night? like if i call in for this, can i call back later with another comment? i should be able to call you again within 2 weeks… get ready, buddy!

  13. and thanks for playing the old carlin interviews. it was a very nice thing to do. sad, but a good tribute.

  14. i’m participating in lightning round online:

    obama or mccain- neither

meet with the pope- yes, with high security. nothing wrong with talking.

uniforms- no. clothing is a form of expression, just keep the dress code.

controversial t-shirts- no, ban them in the dress code to be fair to both ends of the spectrum.

condoms- hell no! students who want to participate in sex should buy their own condoms.

  15. George Carlin was a brillant and couragous comedian.

Don Imus is so screwed, he made the insinuation that black people were synonymous with drugs and crime, which is true, but it is also true with white people.

None the less, Don got caught with his hand in the racial cookie jar, again.

  16. ha ha, lol frank

i’d like to know what don said after the comment… did he make any qualifying remarks like “yeah, cops are quicker to pick on a black guy than a white guy”? if he didn’t, he really really should have.

the only reason i’m inclined to believe that this wasn’t a racially derogatory statement is bc he got his ass in so much trouble last year, why would he be stupid enough to go there again?

alan, thanks for hanging on to the caller over the break. i really wanted to hear what he was saying about the 60 minutes interview or whatever.

  17. Epiphany, I’m not a fan of Don Imus, but this gets tiresome that he is being attacked over nothing.

If you listen to the transcript of his original statement, he said that the Tennessee women were “cute.” Most of the gals on the TN ladies’ basketball team are BLACK! Then he went on to say that Rutgers had some nappy headed gals. It wasn’t against black people specifically or he wouldn’t have called the TN gals cute!! It’s idiocy.

  18. I have no idea whether he’s being attacked over nothing or not. I have no idea what he meant by that response. As I said, I tend to think he was being satirical, like … “OH! He’s black? Well! There ya go cause as we all know every black in this country including Barack and Michelle Obama are committing crimes 24/7! Damn I bet Barack’s robbing a bank right now as we speak!” Something like that, being sarcastic and satirical.

I don’t know. A caller earlier said the comment was ambiguous. I agree.

The Rutgers thing? His partner also called the Rutgers women “jigaboos”. Ain’t that a lovely term from the past. Not funny at all and not helpful.

As for this situation … I don’t know, whataya want from me LOL? I’m tired and I’m going to bed. I’ll give Don a call in the morn and see what the story is.

  19. I’m still up. Why didn’t Stephen Colbert say what actually happened to his face? Maybe Don Imus knows.

  20. ” why would he be stupid enough to go there again? ”

Because he’s just plain stupid to begin with, in all the years he’s been on radio, have you ever heard Imus say anything intelligent? Think real hard…No!

I’m suprised anyone as intelligent as Alan would associate themselves with such ilk.

  21. So Carlin is this big bad brave guy for saying dirty words that were supposed to be off-limits in broadcasting but yet every day more and more common or words are disallowed because of Political Correctness. How bizarre this world is becoming.

So now Imus isn’t allowed to confirm whether or not someone is black before making a comment? Hell, I don’t watch football, and the guy has a white sounding name other than the Pac-Man part, I’d confirm racial identity first too these days.

  22. this still isn’t corrected. ha ha. ahh kay den
