I am a regular watcher of Hannity & Colmes. Love the show and the nightly interaction that goes on. I think that both you and Sean are swell guys and have great chemistry. I only have one complaint. Please get yourself some new clothes! You wear purple shirts and ties almost every night. Purple is so passe’ this year. There are times when you look like a funeral director. If you would just spruce up your wardrobe a bit, I think it would do you a world of good. I do like your new glasses though. I would like to say that I have no doubt that you love this country and are proud to be an American. I also believe you must be a good and decent person. However, your views and positions are dangerous over the long term. I realize I don’t have time to debate the issues with you here, but there is something that I hope you will take the time to think about provided your people will pass this message along to you.
There is a reason your radio show is on late at night with relatively low patronage. There is a reason that your show just got back on in New York. There is a reason that Hannity, Limbaugh, and O’reilly (conservatives) are on during the day with huge listenership. You are entitled to your opinion, and I am grateful that you have the opportunity to express your opinion through our Bill of Rights.
Finally, you may be on TV, but if there was no Hannity you would not be on TV. Hannity carries the show, and you sir are a sideshow because the Fox News Channel adheres to the motto ‘Fair and Balanced’. Hannity is the fair and you provide the other side which unfortunately is considered balance.
I realize I will not change your politics nor your point of view. You sir are a dangerous person, and one day in your old age I hope you will come to understand the utter problems that your viewpoint causes this country.

Epiphany…the point being made about abortion, albeit not very tactfully, is that those who are pro-abortion could have been easily aborted themselves. My mom had no more “right” to abort me that she does now. It wasn’t her damn body, it was MINE growing inside of her. There is a difference.

Has anyone else noticed what a “ME ME ME” issue abortion for the most part? It’s all about ME and MY body. I realize that personal freedom is extremely important but the line has to be drawn somewhere. We don’t allow people to walk into grocery stores and steal food. Is that limiting freedom? Sure, it is. But it’s common sense to not allow it.
Anyway, the whole mentality of pro-choice people on the abortion issue seems to be completely contradictory to liberal and Democratic Party principles. The Democratic Party has always been all about protecting the most vulnerable, and in the case of those of us who are more fortunate, putter OTHERS before ourselves. I don’t see why an unborn child doesn’t deserve some basic human rights, just like everybody is entitled to good health care and to find a job that pays a living wage if they are able and willing to work.
In all fairness, I’m not so sure Louette’s letter is “hate mail”

Do I like ONE American dying…of course not. I’m not that strongly in favor of this war anyway. And I was against abortion before the Iraq War started…what would you have said then?
For the record, more unborn babies have been killed via abortion since the war started than soldiers, by the way. And if we are generous and narrow the scope to 20+ weeks, 16,000 children are killed every year. Even if we remove deformities or conditions incompatible with life, I’m sure that number is still high. Perhaps 10K a year? 40,000 needless infanticides in THIS COUNTRY since the start of the Iraq War. That’s not counting earlier term abortions.

Actually, I agree with Ron Paul 100% on this. He is against killing in all forms.
I, on the other hand, don’t believe a woman should be forced to have a baby just to leave it to die in a garbage can in sub-zero weather or beat it to death once it is 2 years old.

Michael, but I disagree with the notion that all killing is wrong. Killing in some instances is justified. If you try to shoot me, can’t I kill you in self-defense? Is that wrong? Not all killing is wrong. Your position isn’t inconsistent but neither is mine. The inconsistent position is “protect the bad guys from killing but kill the unborn children.”
Purposeful killing of innocent people, which includes unborn children, is not justified. Yes, the next thing is “collateral killing from war” but then I will go back to WWII: was that justified? We can debate merits of specific wars but to make a blanket statement that all killing in war is wrong is flawed logic I think.
I’m not strongly pro-war or pro-death penalty. I don’t think anyone is strongly pro-war, honestly. But I am very strongly anti-abortion or pro-life or whatever terminology you want to apply to it.
TDro, you say you abhor suffering: does the baby not suffer when it is being killed in the womb? So the baby should DEFINITELY suffer purposeful death now via abortion versus POTENTIAL suffering later? Lots of African-American children disproportionately suffer. By your logic, we should advocate stepping up the abortion rate in the African-American community, should we not? Will that be part of national healthcare? I think killing unborn children is wrong on all accounts.

Well chew on this for a moment:

Now, yes, I do agree with you that if some crook is staring you down with a gun you have a right to defend yourself. I’m pretty sure that’s in the Bible too, although I’m not sure.
As far as war goes, I am STRONLY anti war. I want our government to do everything in its power to avoid war before going into it. Your comment about WWII brings up an interesting point. I hate the face that it happened, but it was, in my opinion, the last “good” war the United States has fought.
And, finally, the death penalty. This is another situation where, even though the desire for vengence may be strong, but my conscience tells me it’s not right. I don’t see anything good about stooping to that horrible person’s level and killing them. Killing except in self-defense is something that I think is just wrong. Period. And what if we find out later that we made a mistake in a death sentence? We can’t bring that innocent person back to life. You were talking about how abortions are disproportionately affecting the African American community. Same thing has happened historically with the death penalty as well. Bottom line, since there are always going to be cases where mistakes are made and innocent people are killed it’s worth taking the precaution of giving these people life sentences rather than the death penalty. The life sentence can be lifted; the death penalty cannot.
And I never said that your position was inconsistent. I was just trying to tell tDro that not all pro-lifers support the death penalty and the war.
