Joe Biden Tells It Like It Is.
Mike Ambinder has a rundown of what he said at the Center for American Progress:
“Under George Bush’s watch, Iran, not freedom, has been on the march: · Iran is much closer to the bomb; · Iran’s influence in Iraq is expanding · Iran’s terrorist proxy Hezbollah is ascendant in Lebanon and the country is on the brink of civil war. Beyond Iran, Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan - the people who actually attacked us on 09-11 - are stronger now than at any time since 9-11. Hamas controls Gaza and launches rockets at Israel every day. And 140,000 American troops remain stuck in Iraq with no end in sight. Because of the policies George Bush has pursued and John McCain would continue, the entire Middle East is more dangerous. The United States and our allies, including Israel, are less secure.”
And there’s more.
Think Progress has video.

There is nothing but truth in this statement, but Republicans prefer rhetoric over substance -a charge they level against Obama.
But Obama was right about Iraq, right about Afghanistan and Pakistan, right about the gas tax gimmick, right about the tax cuts, education, government funding (or lack of) in vital fields of innovation (Bush hates science), right about health care, right about Cuba, right about Iran…
Too bad he doesn’t have any experience.
That and he’s a racist.

Given enough time, Bush will find a way to unite the entire middle east and turn every last living soul into a jihadist bent on our destruction.
And if you believe the Jerusalem Post he fully intends to attack Iran before the end of his term.

Incompetence is the word.

Hooray for Biden!
He has once again hit the nail on the head. McCain is a tool and couldn’t run a Chevy off a cliff let alone this country in the complex situations it faces today. Obama has the right ticket but I’m happy as long a Democrat gets in the oval office.
Bring ‘em home.

Apparently you think that the entire Middle East does not already want us dead? If that is true then why do you think that NO ONE over there has condemned what the terrorist did on 9/11, or what they did to the USS Cole, or the Marine Barracks. Maybe you should take a look at the Quran…specifically the part where it says that promises do not have to be kept with the infidels. Maybe then you would see that the entire Middle East really does hate us. They always have and they always will. It is part of their culture, religion, views, and way of life. There is no changing it just stopping it.

Pray tell me, isn’t this a hint of hypocrisy? The left abhor the idea of going to war with Iran - so please, can someone in here tell me what Bush is supposed to do? Does the liberal left propose “talks” with people who want to destroy us? Or, do we just sit here, dumb and happy, and let them walk all over us?
And further - what the heck does Lebanon’s situation have to do with President Bush? Biden makes it appear that *everything* is Bush’s fault - but isn’t this expected of liberals anyway?

There is one thing I think everyone should know, Invading Iraq was just what the “enemy” wanted the usa to do. sadam execution was the 2nd and making Iraq a nation of islaam was the final step. Now the USA has egg on its face and we took our eye off the ball [bin laden] Damned if we stay in Iraq and god knows what will happen if we evacuate.
YOUR VOTE IS GOING TO COUNT THIS TIME !!!!

Steve,
Hello. I’d like to tell you that America pushed Lebanon hard for larger democratic elections. Bush loves elections. Democracy!
Well they had a democratic election and they elected a bunch of terrorists to run the government. Democracy!
I have no problem with talking (ie: debating, negotiating, creating opportunities) and before you say “But Noel, they’re crazy! They say horrible, despicable, crazy things! It’s crazy to talk to them! Useless! Dangerous!”
Let me remind you that every positive negotiation we’ve ever done from John Adams preventing war with France, to Russia in the cold war have been with countries who loved to threaten us with destruction.
“Death to America! Die! Die! Die!” Yawn.
It’s all been said before. The Jews have been talking to Muslims -who weekly threaten their genocide- forever now and have done so with just about every enemy nation since the beginning of civilization. (See my Hagee post)
It’s only Bush’s perversion of world politics that have infected American minds about the world’s true nature.
It’s only Bush’s twisted world lens that has allowed uninformed Americans to be coerced into this unfortunate frame of reference that leads us to believe negotiation = weakness when dealing with these horrible speaking scum.
But they’re all horrible speaking scum! Sometimes we’re the scum. Sometimes they’re both scum. But we’ve never had a problem that needed negotiation with a nicely speaking country…that sent flowers.
Nope.
So let us stop listening to Hannity, or Beck, or Dobbs, or even me (crazy as it sounds) and let’s just see what hasn’t been working.
Seems to me what we’re doing right now fits that bill.
