On Monday’s Radio Show…

May 19, 2008

• Barack Obama wants the U.S. to “lead by example” in the fight against global warming. Why is that so offensive to some people?
Conservative Hypocrisy? Alan exposes the response of some right-wingers to Sen. Ted Kennedy’s illness.
• McCain says Obama is clueless on international affairs. But is the GOP nominee throwing stones from inside a glass house?

  1. Look at Alan and Sean on THE DAILY SHOW

  2. Thanks for that link Cheryl, I enjoyed it.

  3. Mr. Hannity ^ is windy and kind of rude, isn’t he?

He’s another Bill O’Reilly, only carrying a few extra pounds and with better hair.

“Anyone but Bush”. More valid today than it was in 2003. Timeless. Only we might adjust it slightly to, “anyone but McBush”.

Can Hillary please face reality now?

  5. OH Wowwwwwwwwwww!!! Hahaha thanks for that link.

Alan was right even 5 years ago about the war.

  6. You welcome, homies.

It’s so funny, b/c Sean looks like the typical preppy pretty boy, and Alan and Jon Stewart look like they’re chillin’. I love Sean from the Christian stand point and really don’t have anything negative to say about him, but I LAUGHED every time he crossed his legs.

Michael~ be nice to my Hillary :-(
j/k, you know I respect your view point

  7. Speaking of O’Reilly, did you guys see the clip of him flippin’ the f. out???

  8. I saw that and it sounded very strange coming from him haha.

  9. I don’t call the show often, but I want my own little nickname. I want a cool name, too… there’s Elmo, Bob in Vegas, John the Trucker, DELLLAAAA LOL

  10. I saw that O’Reilly clip…pretty wacky. I like O’Reilly, though he has a temper. I’m a bigger fan of Sean & Alan. I think of O’Reilly as a warmup for Sean & Alan.

Anyway, at least he didn’t curse at the director…he just cursed at the situation. “WE’LL DO IT LIVE!” That’s like a “DON’T TAZE ME BRO” catchphrase. :D

  11. DO IT LIVE!!! WE’LL DO IT LIVE!!!

    F*CKIN’ THING SUCKS!!!

I have seen it now too many times. LOL!

Oh my God he’s such a JERK! Good example of bad karma.

There are millions of views of that clip on youtube.

You do know that there’s a clip of Alan doing the same thing. Oh yeah, it’s worse than what O’Reilly said. Just scandalous. Alan says many things I can’t repeat here; it’s that bad. And then he jumps a stagehand and beats him to a pulp. Then there’s a huge food fight and Alan throws a big fluffy pie at Sean’s face. Sean eats the pie. All on video. I have it. I’m going to sell it on ebay.

    8-> 8-> 8->

  12. LOL

  13. dud you see the dance remix? i can’t even take it this is literally ROFLMAO

  14. Guys, I need a nickname.

I’m going to pretend I moved to San Diego, then I can be Cheryl in San Diego, which has a nice ring to it. :-D

  15. Well you’re always going to see the monuments, so why not be Statue-esque? Heh.

  16. A dance remix? Ok I gotta go look for that one.

  17. Give me a link for the “dance remix”. LOL

It isn’t the one where “Bill O’Reilly interviews himself” is it? LOLOLLLLLOOOOO!

  18. For all the ladies out there that say they will not vote for Barack Obama if Hillary does not win, just keep in mind that McCain will win and Roe Vs. Wade will be a thing of the past.

  19. RC, are you talking about me regarding the statues?

I’m going to be Cheryl from Syracuse, not San Diego.

    Here’s the link:

  20. That caller is right. It’s called “revenge voting”. I’ve been reading on a few sites I won’t name where there is a whole bunch of Hillary supporters who hate Obama so much that they are going to vote for McCain.

In other words their hatred for Obama is so great that they would vote for someone they have admitted they can’t stand just to defeat Obama.

And on those sites I have seen some of the most racist comments ever. There IS racism involved and extreme hatred for Michelle Obama as well.

  21. Well, I’ve always been a McCain fan. He’s the guest with the most appearances on THE DAILY SHOW. That’s why for me, it’s very easy to look at and consider McCain again. Plus I’m not really a liberal. I’m smack dab in the middle.

  22. I like and respect McCain too especially in reference to the Daily Show. But not a chance in hell would I vote for someone who is a conservative repub and would be pretty much a 3rd Bush term as Alan said.

I almost hurt myself laughing at the dance remix video. That is so funnnnyyyy!

  23. “Are you part Negro”??? Bizarre, but funny.

  24. I’m sorry guys. That O’Reilly video thing is getting sort of old.
All you political junkies might have to reconsider getting lives perhaps? What are ya’ll going to do when there aren’t any politics anymore? Consider getting a job?

  25. Amanda, thanks very much for joining us and spreading your sunshine around the place!

Epiphany~ I thought the vid was HILARIOUS.

I can’t believe the “are you part negro” email… Negro?
It’s one of those funny, but not funny things.

  26. The “O’Reilly video thing” will never get old for me. lol!

I have a life Amanda. Annoying people like you.

When there aren’t anymore politics? What on earth are you talking about? There have been politics since there were cave people and there will be politics until our sun turns into a super nova.

And by the way, what are you doing on this blog Amands if you don’t like politics? :)

  27. In listening to your show tonight, Alan, it seems that your Democratic listeners should remember that more than voting for the President they are voting to clear the Republicans out of the bureaucracy–out of the FDA, and the Justice Department, etc.

  28. Voting for McCain because you hate Obama so much is the same thing as voting for Obama because you hate McCain so much. Doesn’t make sense either way.

  29. wow so fast to “talk”.
but yet so lazy to “act”.

  30. how are ya’ll gonna “do” something, if the only thing your lives are just….typing away at a dumb screen.

  31. Well, E… part of the lure for me is that McCain is pro-life. Like Flap said, that’s kind of an issue that take precedence over all else for some people. That’s really the biggest attraction for me.

  32. I don’t know. I’m still waiting for the DNC. It’s not official until they meet.

  33. I didn’t realize that abortion was your main issue. If it is than McCain might be your guy.

I am more worried about the Iraq War, health care, tax cuts for the rich, the economy etc etc.

And yes I don’t want more conservatives on the Supreme Court. It won’t just be abortion issues, it will extend to many other important issues as well.

I don’t want to go backwards in time to the dark ages.

  34. Amanda you really need to calm down. You’re making a lot of inaccurate assumptions that are almost laughable in how incorrect they are. ALMOST laughable, b/c your tone is one of a woman with an undeserved god-complex. Interesting how much you think you know about our lives and our actions.

In the words of Ricky Bobby’s youngest son, “Someone didn’t love you enough when you were a child, did they?”.

  35. I’m not trying to re-open the debate (I haven’t even finished reading all of the comments on the other page, b/c everyone was actually making very good points) but I believe that life begins at conception. I recognize that we do not live in a theocracy (which doesn’t work anyway), so in order to live peacefully with others I’m willing to compromise and further regulate abortion, vs. abolishing it.

I can’t remember who posted on the other thread “save the fetus, kill the child”. That’s exactly how many conservatives view the situation. I’m interested in saving the fetus AND the child, which is why I’m building my single parents website (mamashouse.org). I want to support women who have made the choice to honor the life they found growing within their womb. My crafts business is small, and something I started doing 4 years ago to make extra money for my son’s Christmas presents. I put it online last year, and am currently trying to build my client base so that I can bring other mothers (or dads!) on board with crafts items to sell in the VA, MD, DC area. It’s so much easier to work on a craft item at home, than to have a 2nd job that takes you out of the house.

  36. I’ve got all sorts of plans for my single parents group, whose tag line is “empowering single parents thru education, encouragement, and entertainment”. The challenge is getting all the damned content written and up on the site.

I AM very concerned about the war, but I just don’t know what the right thing to do is anymore. I just feel like it would be really shitty to leave the Iraqis and Afghans to take care of OUR mess. That would be pretty f*ckd up, actually.

So abortion and the war are where McCain’s got me. However, I’m not a big fan of privatizing health care (although I haven’t studied it in full).

Oh, and I’m REALLY BIG on national security. Who cares about the wonderful state of health care if we’re subject to terrorist attacks? I’m not down with terrorism at all.

  37. I’m gonna go do some knitting, but will check back w/ you fools before the show’s over!
