  1. the tide is turning this fall….

and Hillary Clinton wins West Virginia but still lacks delegates and superdelegates and the popular vote and she is going broke in donations.

obama will likely be our nominee

hmmm, im a democrat but, i dunno about obama. can he win this fall?

  2. Best news I’ve heard in 2008.

    Did I re-up? You bet I did.

  3. Louie, that’s an excellent question. It’s not wrong to speculate on whether a portion of white America is willing to vote for him, b/c racism is a fact. So far the pundits have danced around the issue… no one wants to get into any trouble, I suppose.

The ACLU… they do a lot of good things, but when I think of them I always think of the following: “You should be open minded, but not so open minded that your brains fall out”. (I see this quote attributed to different people, I’ve always attributed it to Jacob Needleman.) I understand their premise, the whole defending our civil liberties thing. Interesting info about them here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACLU#Controversial_stances

  4. I don’t always agree with the positions of the ACLU but I do support them. I am a “card carrying member” lol.

Civil liberties are everything to me. Without those precious rights you have nothing.

They were also very helpful to me and MY individual rights a very long time ago. I will always be grateful.

As far as the white vote is concerned, yes I think Barack Obama can get enough white votes to win. It will be narrow but I think he can. He didn’t get this far on just African-American voters supporting him.

And he won the Nebraska primary tonight. (See my post about it with stats under on tonights show thread)That state is mostly white. Maybe entirely lol.

  5. Ok, I’ll admit there are cases I wish the ACLU would leave alone, but generally it seems to me that the work the organization is doing is absolutely crucial if we’re to save ourselves from marching down the Roman road to imperial autocracy.

  6. Right on, RC.
The ACLU difends the likes of scum like Rush Limpballs and Jerry Falwell, as well as the weird and obnoxious.
In short, it’s the Constitution that they defend; we all benefit.

  7. Namecalling, Boogieman, nice work! Good to know that there are haters on both sides. What exactly makes those two people “scum”?

  8. Flap:
are you mentally challenged? I’m just asking.

  9. Operation Chaos is a despicable, immoral, anti-American affront to democratic values and if the Justice Dept had not been turned into the political wing of the Plumbers Squad there would be a federal prosecutor reviewing Rush’s “dreamcast” and preparing an indictment.

  10. I couldn’t agree with you more RC. I would feel the same way even if Alan were doing it, in order to disrupt the Republican primaries. Of course that would never happen as Alan has too much integrity and class. And I don’t care where you stand politically, you KNOW it’s the truth!

Rush Limbaugh is despicable and immoral indeed. No ethics whatsoever. And this is just the beginning. How low will people go this time? Will this upcoming campaign make the Kerry “Swiftboating” episode look like an afternoon tea party? Only this time they get to bring RACE into it.

This is why so many people I know hate politics.

  11. I guess where the ACLU is concerned, it’s kind of like a criminal defense attorney. You don’t think about whether your client did it, you just think about the law and what the law says about his particular case.

RC & Epiphany~ ditto. (No pun intended.)

  12. E~ you forgot to add ARROGANT. That man is SO ARROGANT, I can hardly believe it. And almost everyone of his callers calls and says things like, “Rush you have unbelievable power, you are amazing, you are SO intelligent”. Rush’s response is always, “thank you, I know”!!!! He’s not joking when he says this, he’s totally serious. One time he said he knows Hillary as well as we knows every inch of his glorious naked body. *puke* I don’t think that man has ever even heard the word “humble”.

  13. Neither have you, Cherylcarrol.

  14. Limbaugh is a performer, nothing more. As a conservative he embarasses me. He wants attention, plain and simple. Attention = listeners.
He’s nothing more than a political Howard Stern.

  15. I may be wrong, but I’ve always considered civil liberties to be liberties afforded to individuals that behave in a civil manner. When an individual ceases to conduct themselves with civility then they have forfeited those rights. ie. child molesters

  16. Wow, Craig your understanding of civil liberties is nothing short of………………….stupidity. Please, tell us more.

  17. Unfortunately, civility and civil liberties don’t correlate.

  18. yup.
