On Wednesday’s Radio Show…
May 7, 2008• After last night’s primary results, former Sen. George McGovern was the first high-profile Hillary supporter to abandon her campaign. Will others soon follow?
• Former White House Counsel Lanny Davis explains why Clinton loyalists still have faith in her ability to win.
• Presidential campaign veteran Jack Kemp, the GOP’s vice presidential nominee in 1996, assesses Hillary’s odds of saving her campaign.
I didn’t keep a copy, but I did send a letter to a radio show host predicting at least 3 major defections from Clinton to Obama by June. I have no idea how accurate that has been so far.
Alan~ can you please think about adding a post on Myanmar, and why the country is rejecting US aid? Thanks.
Only in America can you take something so simple (one person one vote) and screw it up so well. I’m talking about voting for our Prez-dent. But then if you look at the wonderful leaders we have had, most are so old the dementia (severe impairment or loss of intellectual capacity and personality integration, due to the loss of or damage to neurons in the brain.) set in long ago.
As for Mr. Obama, since I live in Florida and Mr. Obama does not want to count our votes from the primary, then I would guess he is not that interested in my vote in November.
I wouldn’t count Florida’s votes either.
Why reward them for managing to -again- fig up an election?
The ego of these officials! Why not break the rules? Who cares about the regulation? Who cares about the party? Why not just do what you want for your own self-serving reasons?
I actually saw the governor say “Florida deserved to be at the top of election process”
If we vote again then Florida gets all the attention they’ve been whoring for all year. Why should anyone follow the rules? If you’re rewarded with extra elections, state attention and national notice, perhaps it’s more lucrative to just do whatever you want.
I believe that rules are there for a reason and when you break them you should deal with the consequences.
I hope Floridians turn their ire on their elected officials who brought this shame on themselves and not on Obama who should do the right thing and follow his party’s lead.
But hey if you want 8 more years of Bush vote away.
Maybe Howard Dean and his cohorts at the DNC should have not come up with all these rules. Voting should be a states process and the states should be in the lead. We don’t need National or Federal rules. How many times will they reach in and screw things up?
That’s an argument worth having Nomad, but it’s pretty hypocritical for Hillary to embrace the rules (and Florida and Michigan) in 2007 and then reject them in 2008 cause it’s conveniant.
I’m sure everyone here can relate to an instance when our self-centered sides overwhelmed our reasonable intelligent sides.
I just can’t see the issue of Florida/Michigan beyond the fact that everyone was chummy about the rules and then on a whim became sour.
I will say this..from now on states will agree on the rules and will obey the rules.
Unless of course the DNC caves.
What I can’t see is that if Obama is so far ahead and he won all these states and popular vote and has all these money to spend compared to Hillary then why is he so against including everyone?
Well I’m under no illusion that Barack knows he’d probably lose Florida but I don’t think he’d lose as big as Hillary believes. (I’d say by 9pts) Which won’t give Hillary much more than bragging rights.
But I believe the real problem here is in order to do the campaign you’d have to organize a massive organization relatively fast and pony up the cash that quite frankly Obama rather use against Mcain.
Then Hillary’s campaign -which has given Obama no incentive to continue- would bash him until she got her 10 points or so and the numbers really wouldn’t change.
The Obama brand is suffering. Everytime Hillary yells “Obama won’t count Florida!” she hurts him in November.
Everytime she says “Obama is an elitest -out of touch!” she stabs him a little deeper.
So on top of the message the DNC needs to say to Florida (We’re not going to reward your pig-headedness)
Obama just has very little to gain (Florida will be seated, of course, it’ll be some type of half/half thing) and a whole, whole, lot to lose.
If you ask me, the Dems need to get Hillary out of there as fast as possible. God why even have super delegates if they’re not willing to take charge?
Now’s the time for them to show the validity of having “Super” delegates in the first place, if they don’t screw it up of course.
Which they may very will.
I just want to say that the caller right now “DELLA” is my least favorite caller in the universe. The one who is obsessed with Hillary Clinton, who hates her like a mad woman. She calls alot during Radio Graffiti.
Oh please Dear Lord hear my prayer. Destroy Della’s phone. Destroy it, mangle it, smash it into tiny bits. And then take out her telephone line.
Thank you and Amen.
I am going to write my congressman and senators to rescind the right of free speech. Just for Della. I will lead a campaign to do so.
Thank you for your support.
Best Radio Graffiti tonight:
We could’ve found better candidates in a methodone clinic.
All in all, very good show tonight. Della was very passionate, and very much in need of a Xanax. Poor girl.
Noel~ I hear you about the election, but what really sucks is that the people are not being heard b/c the officials keep figgin’ it up (as you put it) :0).
Della be crazy.
Epiphany~ I haven’t heard her on Radio Graffiti before. Even though she was flipping out and repeating the same 3 points over and over again, I was glad that she at least had some facts to base her hysteria on (as opposed to just hating Hillary just to hate her).
Della be hatin’
I don’t care about Della’s facts. I don’t care about anything having to do with Della. She calls about 3 or 4 times a week. And she’s been calling for years.
I would rather stab myself through the eye with an exacto knife than have to listen to anymore of Della’s phonecalls.
Epiphany CEO of C.R.D.R.S
(Campaign to Rescind Della’s Right to Speak)
All Della needs is to sit back and smoke a joint ..
as for the show tonight .. I was proud of Alan for the first time in my adult life that when the idiot that called Alan a communist, Alan hung-up on him. About time you started demending some respect Alan.
Epiphany~ once again you are just too much for me, girl. Lol. CEO of CRDRS. I haven’t noticed Della before, but maybe if I’d had to listen to her 3-4 times a week for x number of years, I’d be right there with you.
Nomad~ lol. I wasn’t very impressed by the guy’s “Alan the Communist” statement either.
