John McCain has been on THE DAILY SHOW about 5 times over the years. During the beginning of this process my favorites for president were Clinton and McCain. McCain’s flip-flops have gotten me concerned, though.

But Obama has run a beautiful campaign, dealing with Wright expertly, forging relationships even though he cut ties with “bittergate” and prevailing with commonsense when he went up against a gimmicky gas tax issue.
Oh how I could go on.
Obama has shown that he’s not just there cause he’s black -so F*ck off Geraldine Ferraro- because he’s shown that whether his “blackness” is a plus or a disturbing negative, he’s managing to break through to all races and creeds by just being Barack Obama.
And that’s why all the controversies won’t stick. Because whether you believe he thinks like Wright, or thinks like an elitest, or thinks like a newbie, it’s hard to keep that argument when you actually hear the man’s thoughts.
I’ll say one last thing.
You think Clinton is tough? She sure does tell us so every day, all the time, reminding us how tough she’s being. Meanwhile Obama has really suffered the hardest hits of any campaigner and he’s just been cool, calm, collected and brilliant -sticking to his issues- and being classy while doing it.

Epiphany~ last night Alan asked a caller why not voting was unpatriotic (I forget the exact wording). It was a moment of epiphany for me, I’d never thought of not voting as being a way to protest a situation, or to express your dissatisfaction. I’d always thought of it as a disservice to the democratic process.
