Twitter Might Get You Out Of Jail
University of California-Berkeley graduate student James Karl Buck was jailed while covering anti-government protests in Egypt. But they didn’t take his cell phone, and he keep up his contacts beginning with the one-word Twitter: “arrested.”

I’m still considering adding Twitter here. Would you use it to talk to each other here in real time? And who knows what other uses Twitter might inspire.

Alan~ why not try adding it for a trial period? Like two weeks or a month or something? I’m sure the regular bloggers will use it.

I just read the news article. That is AWESOME. Technology has just really changed us. While my sister was in Iraq, I im’ed her via Yahoo Messenger. I commented to her once how amazing that was. Letters from Vietnam took weeks to arrive, I was contacting her in real time.

Twitter would be cool to have I guess. I’ve never used it before, but I’m open to trying new things.

Does anyone remember hearing about Michelle Obama’s senior year thesis from Princeton? I keep hearing about how “dangerous” Michelle is, so I decided to start some research on her. I came across an article from Politico today, which provides some excerpts from the thesis. It’s like 100 pages, so my mom is going to print that bad boy for me so I can read it.

Well my main question is what are the security issues? AOL instant messenger seems a conduit for every kind of malware ever invented. Twitter I know nothing about.
But given the propensity of the rightists to violate the law, their so-called Christian values, and every imaginable moral code in order to advance their political agenda, I would anticipate that any vulnerability in the Twitter code might be exploited.
Frankly, I’ve been expecting LiberlLand to be hacked as a matter of routine.

I registered but am not sure how good it is real time. I suppose we’d have to add each other. Frankly, I probably just haven’t figured it out yet.

I still don’t get this. How is this different from just IMing people?
Oh yeah. I’m sure everyone on here is dying to know what I am doing every second of the day. lol.
Right now I’m watching MSNBC for election coverage and drinking a glass of snapple ice tea. Stay tuned as I might take be taking a shower later.
Ok so I don’t get it. I guess I’m just getting old.

Tim Russert is wearing a navy tie with white pin stripes. Chris Matthews is wearing a dark navy tie with white dots. Keith Olbermann, a silvery white tie.
Stay tuned for future updates.

LOL. you guys are silly. But Epiphany raises a good question… how is twitter dif from im?
I was going to call Alan tonight to ask what I fear is a stupid question, but I can’t find the answer myself. I’m not advocating this answer, I just want to know why it’s not feasible. Regarding our national debt, why can’t we just have a bunch of really really rich people pay it? B/c we’ll just get back in debt again? B/c they don’t have that much money? I don’t get it, 4 real.

Am I the only one who sees these pretty little quilt square things that have appeared next to our comments?

Update! uhh,watching i.Carly with my daughter,just popped 4 hydros,much better now.
May 6th, 2008 at 7:25 pm
They make me think of snowflakes.
As for economic style questions, no offense, but Alan’s not too good at answering them. Also, he’s explained how dull they can be to his audience. Once a caller brings up oil this, and profit margins that, the call is short-lived. They really shouldn’t bother.

Craig~ what’s a ‘hydro’
would you people please speak in a language i understand? i’m starting to feel like an out of touch moron
May 6th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
Doesn’t hydro have to do with water?
May 7th, 2008 at 3:33 am
Yes, it does. But he ‘popped’ them, which makes me think it’s a pill or something. Or maybe that’s just his lingo for opening a bottle of water?
Well Craig???????
