No Kool-Aid For Jenna
While Laura Bush says, without naming the candidate, “my favorite is the Republican,” Jenna Bush isn’t so sure.

jake: Akan I hope you are not pulling a Matt Drudge and uppping your visitor counter then refreshing every 10 seconds - you'l have 10 billion "visitors" or "hits" just like he claimed in no time at all.
jake: You gott fix the refresh / ideo issue - I have tried three times to watch it and i just gave up.
RC: And, heh, it just did it again, so it looks like the video doesn't fit between refreshes.
RC: Hmm, the auto-update just interrupted the Corsi video replay
RC: Well, if it doesn't auto-update, it's not really streaming, so what's the point?
seedyh: to be an american again After the neo-cons are in gitmo!
FuRyUs: Why does this scroll upside down?
FuRyUs: Great. You read it...
FuRyUs: Do Not Read This.
Alan: we may change the refresh to every 5 minutes. I think that's better.

That’s great if she’s thinking for herself. I wonder if this is for real, though, and not just like O’Reilly saying he’s “open to everybody” when everybody knows he’s voting Republican.

I think there’s a lot to be said for loyalty to family, and I think it was stupid for her not to state something similar to what Mama Bush said. She also could have said that she believes in Republican principles and will support the candidate who most closely represents said principles.
I think the booze has clouded her judgment.
Mama and Daddy Bush are about to shell out a lot of money for her wedding.

Cheryl, are your serious? So you think that Hillary Clinton should have remained loyal to the Rodham family and been a Republican?!?! Political ideology isn’t supposed to be something that’s passed on from your parents. Individuals are supposed to make their own judgments about issues and think for themselves. If it turns out that they generally agree with their parents, then, fine. I respect that. But I do know that I certainly do not, and I don’t think that there’s anything wrong with me having different political views than they do.

As I understand it, O’Reilly’s parents were Democrats. I agree that it’s obvious who Bill’s voting for. Unless US troops’ heads start to explode via some super weapon, Bill will contend more time is needed, with promises that this is the last time he will. Obviously, you all would be terribly irresponsible if you point out if he doesn’t keep his word. Just terrible.

Michael, I’m dead serious. I think it was rude for that little girl to sit in that seat and create all this controversy, sitting next to her mom with her dad still in office.
Reread my comment.
Do I think political ideology should be passed down from parent to child? I don’t even feel like taking the time to answer that, b/c I didn’t say that in my comment. But sense YOU brought it up, I’ll answer with this: my parents are Democrat, I voted for Bush in 2000 and Kerry in 2004. So what do you think?
April 24th, 2008 at 8:19 pm
Cheryl: Sorry for reading that into your statement. It sure seemed to me that you were saying that she should be a good little girl and do what her parents tell her and say what her parents tell her to say. She’s her own person and has the right to her own political beliefs and to express them. There’s nothing “rude” about disagreeing with her parents. She never even said that she did. She just said that she didn’t make up her mind yet.

Michael, don’t sweat it. It’s good for us to discuss our different views.
April 25th, 2008 at 12:42 am
Maybe jenna wants to talk about where george w is going to end up in the near future? something tells me it wont be a popular c.c.
April 25th, 2008 at 12:49 am
My hate for Jenna reduced 1%
April 25th, 2008 at 1:47 am
Noel~ only 1% reduction? Snotty little brat. I stand by my previously stated position. There is a lot to be said for family loyalty, and if she’d spent more time studying in school instead of competing with Paris Hilton, she could’ve phrased her response in such a way as to to respectful of her father’s position and respectful of her individuality.
April 25th, 2008 at 11:49 am
could we maybe not be so age-ist/sexist? Why are we calling jenna Bush a “little girl”?
Also, who cares who she supports? it’s not like she’s a great leader or something. this is Anerica. We don’t have a royal family.
April 25th, 2008 at 12:53 pm
oops, i mean America, with an “m”.
April 25th, 2008 at 1:00 pm
If she were “John” Bush, my opinion would be the same. Family loyalty says that you support your family. And she’s a “little girl” b/c she acts like one.
April 25th, 2008 at 5:06 pm
Actually, she’s a grown woman about to get married.
April 25th, 2008 at 8:06 pm
Actually, MY opinion is that she’s a SPOILED BRAT.
How about leaving me to my opinion, and leaving you to yours.
April 26th, 2008 at 4:29 am
Seems a bit defensive, Cheryl.
April 26th, 2008 at 8:34 am
Regardless of whether she is a “spoiled brat” or not, that does not change that she is an adult and entitled to her own opinions and ideas and the right to express them any way she pleases. If you feel that her opinion is not to be taken seriously based on your view of her as a person, fine. That’s your right to. I don’t believe, however, that anybody should be telling her not to freely express her ideas.
April 26th, 2008 at 12:29 pm
I’m not telling her that. I don’t even know her. And how dare YOU try to force your opinions on me? Get over yourself.
Wheelies, read into it what you want, I could care less.
April 26th, 2008 at 11:47 pm
I’m gonna have to separate you two! geez. You’d think she like, killed your cat, or somehing.
April 27th, 2008 at 1:19 pm
I don’t understand all the anger against Jenna. I don’t know her either but I had newfound respect for her after she showed that she is trying to keep an open mind.
No one is trying to force their opinion on anyone.
April 27th, 2008 at 5:08 pm
I’m going to echo WFG’s statement, Cheryl. Calm down and stop being so defensive. When did I ever try to “force” any idea on you. Is that what stating my opinion is now?
April 27th, 2008 at 5:14 pm
You’re “correcting” my opinion on the issue with yours.
I don’t need to calm down, I’m not riled up. Yet.
You and WFG can bug off.
April 27th, 2008 at 8:13 pm
I’m sorry if I was acting condescending. It was not my intent.
April 27th, 2008 at 11:02 pm
ok.
