    how much can McCain really know about American Culture if he wasn’t born into a society of fast, fattening, delicious food from McD’s and BK? Honestly, I take issue with that.

    While I’m not a McCain supporter, I don’t think it’s fair to pick on his age if he is in good mental and physical health. Ben Franklin was this age during the Revolutionary War, Continental Congress, and in his 80s by the time the Constitutional Convention came around. I’m sure there are other great examples of old fogies who haven’t lost their minds yet. Perhaps we are unfairly relating McCain (a repub) to Reagan (a repub) who suffered from alzheimers. But Reagan didn’t get it till after office (as far as we know), and didn’t tell the American people he had it until 11/1994. (ref: http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/06/05/reagan.health/)
